Today was an experience! My patient was told to pre-med, but ran out of his rx of Amoxicillin. It was for a heart murmur, but the new ADHA guidlines do not require a pre-med for heart murmurs any longer. The ultimate say is from the physician. We tried to get a hold of him for a while and ended up hearing back that Russell needed to be pre-med. We gave him pre-med by 1pm and had to wait an hour which did not leave much time. He was a class 2 and just in to get scaled. We ended up getting finished luckily, since he was here all day! I am feeling a little more comfortable with interproximal scaling, but still getting there.

Wow, how stressful. I am sure you handled it well, you always do.
There is something about having to wait for different things during clinic time that makes me antsy. I could tell a little about what was going on with your patient and thought you handled it really well. He seemed like a nice guy too ;)
Wow and you got done! That is so frustrating waiting for physician's okay!
