Radiology did not go so well today but hygiene clinic was much better. I thought polishing was kind of fun! The flouride tastes pretty nasty, but its probably good to see how the pt feels. I missed monday so I didn't get to practice my anterior scaling again, hopefully I can catch up....

We ended up having a lot of time today to practice our posterior scaling and pass off four PE's. It feels good to get a little ahead on PE's, so I don't feel so stressed that I have to get them done on a specific day! Sclaing is not so bad, just indirect vision is still where I struggle....

Scaling was pretty fun today. I felt like I grasped the concept, so thats always good. I passed off my probing PE and just slowly trucking along!

At clinic today we applied disclosing agent and figured out PFI. I knew it was coming and brushed and flossed before class but still only got a 51%. I didn't know what I was looking for @ first but Joni helped me out w/ that. It was kinda fun! Then we showed each other where our problem areas were and how to brush and floss. Really It helped me out with techniques.... Well, we are done super early so hopefully we can go! Gotta study for anatomy...

I feel like I get a little faster and understand the process just a little more each time we practice. Today we probed and checked for sealantsk, fillings, and cavities.

today we probbed the entire mouth. i'm feeling a little better about it, but still not exactly sure what i'm doing! every day things click a little more.. we also went over the blue sheet finally, so hopefully that helps with the case study:)

Probing made me a little nervous. I feel like I just dont know how much pressure to use so that I can get an accurate reading but not make the pt uncomfortable. I'm just glad last week and all of are exams are done and over with.
