I finished scaling my pt today. she was a class 2 on the LR and LL, and a class 3 On the upper. It was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. It took the full appt to finish her. I feel like I had some good practice really going interproximally and getting the right angle on my instruments. She had mod. perio, so we gave her a lot of OHI and educated her on periodontal disease.

today i had a class 2 on the mandible and 3 on the maxilla. it was pretty tough, i only completed one quad of a class 3. she still has her two wisdom teeth in the maxilla and one has alot of decay. we recommended her to get those out. i took 4 bwx and 2 pa's on the wisdom teeth. i think the hardest part for me today would be the deep pockets!

Today was an experience! My patient was told to pre-med, but ran out of his rx of Amoxicillin. It was for a heart murmur, but the new ADHA guidlines do not require a pre-med for heart murmurs any longer. The ultimate say is from the physician. We tried to get a hold of him for a while and ended up hearing back that Russell needed to be pre-med. We gave him pre-med by 1pm and had to wait an hour which did not leave much time. He was a class 2 and just in to get scaled. We ended up getting finished luckily, since he was here all day! I am feeling a little more comfortable with interproximal scaling, but still getting there.
