Well I was thinking my first pt would be a class 2 or 3 and she ended up being a 5. But in the afternoon I got a 1a which i needed and placed 10 sealants! So i passed off my sealant PE and my air powder polish. I accomplished a little today. yay!

WEll, mockboards are just about over! I think that it really helped me to have my mockboard scheduled for the afternoon. I watched how everything went in the morning and had a little better of an idea of what I was doing by afternoon. My patient did not qualify unfortunately:( She did not have quite enough calculus and not heavy enough. I still think it was a good experience and helps to prepare me for boards. It's been a long day and i'm ready to go home!

We went over a lot of stuff this morning in lab including: accessory fulcrum, ultra sonics, oraqix, arrestin, periochip.....so i can finally start passing some of those off! This afternoon I had a class 5 pt. I was hoping to find my board pt, but tiffany gave me a pt that may possibly work. I'm going to try in out next week for mockboards and hope she qualifies!

My morning pt was a class 2, so i'm now done with my 2's! I did 4 bwx on him and full mouth scale. he had a lot of hard calculus. It was tough! I'm feeling a little frusterated because i missed quite a few spots on the mand anteriors. My afternoon pt had a full upper denture, so i got 2 quads of a class 5. I did 4 PA's on her mandibular teeth. She had a really small mouth we had a hard time getting those big digital x-rays to fit. It seems like i keep missing spots in the mandibular anteriors!

Both of my patients today were 1B's. I needed them, so it was good. It was really frustrating though, because I missed a couple of spots on both of them! I felt like even though they were 1B's they still had quite a bit of calculus. I haven't gotten my mockboard patient yet either. I have a class 2 patient scheduled for next week, hopefully he will qualify..
